4funky lettersFeb 13, 2008
By diana snodgrass
First let me say I love games where kids are learning something and having fun at the same time. I think the concept behind this game is great, but the problem falls in the letters. The idea is to flip the cards over and match the picture with the letter, but the letters are written in such a funky way on the cards, it makes it hard for a preschooler who is just learning letters to recognize them!! There are so many loops & tails on the letters, there were a few I really had to look at to figure out what they were. I did contact the company though and they said that the hooked on phonics people were already aware of this and changing the letters in the next production!! They did also send me out free of charge a copy of one of their other games (roll and read, which had the same letters!!) Anyways, my suggestion would be to check and make sure this is the "new production" before you purchase, or you will be taping your own letters on the cards like I did.... I still give it 4 stars, because once it is fixed I think it is a good choice.

5Good toy for the priceJan 24, 2010

I think it is a cool idea for a toy, but the kids don't stay interested in it too long. It's really hard for them to turn over the cards with the spatula. Otherwise, it's a good game.

My daughter states "this an excellent learning game" for my grandson. He thoroughly enjoys matching the letters with his friends.
